Natural Light Portraits in Oakland

We love shooting natural light portraits in Oakland! It gives us the chance to meet so many talented people who are working hard doing what they love. We make our portrait sessions low stress, easy going, and most importantly, fun. We photograph folks in their natural surroundings without the use of studio backdrops or artificial light. We've worked with actors, designers, farmers, florists, authors, you name it! If it's time to shoot some new images for your website or just time to refresh your headshots, drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you! For more information about our bay area portraits, please fill out our contact form.

Engagement session in Tilden Park

Paul and Joann are just the cutest!  We had such a great time rolling around and exploring during their engagement session in Tilden Park. We met the two of them near Little Farm and hiked, OK more like light hiked, around some scenic spots. This park is such a great location and right in our own backyard!  One minute you can have some really great open landscape and a quick walk away you can enter a canopy of green growth. We've been shooting a number of engagement sessions lately as part of our "full collection". The collection includes an engagement session, wedding coverage, and a free album. We're stoked people are taking advantage of it! For more info about our collections, visit our wedding photos page.

We really look forward to more engagement sessions this season and definitely can't wait to shoot with these two for their upcoming wedding.

Cheers,

Chris and Christian

Family portraits in Berkeley

This fam just recently went 3 for 3 with boys! Seeing as we took photos when they had their second child it only made sense for us to be the ones to take some fun photos once Round 3 showed up!  We met on a cool winter morning over at Live Oak Park in Berkeley for some romping around and shooting. It took a total of 2 minutes before Julian was feeling pretty comfy and keeping things light and fun. Thanks dude! The whole shoot bordered on super silly and everybody was getting into the fun of it all. I had a blast working with these guys and I wish them all the best as they venture forward with the all boy set.  As long as you never take it too serious it's all good.  Here's to having fun/working.

Our favorite place to shoot in San Francisco

We love shooting weddings at San Francisco City Hall in part because of the intimacy, the relatively small size of the guest count, and really feeling like you are part of something special. All of the experiences that Chris and I have had over the years shooting at city hall have been so great. Many times we have been the only other people to witness the couples vows. Other times, its been us and an entourage of friends and family. It's always good. When its time for the ceremony, we always get exited. These ceremonies happen in the blink of an eye and lend themselves to some real candid moments. There is no time to give much thought to what's going on so looking staged is not an option. Oh, and the light and the amazing architecture, don't get me started! More city hall weddings for e&b photography?  Yes please!!

Honeymoon portraits in San Francisco

This was the first ever session to take place on Christmas day!  Break out the champagne or just get mildly excited.  I had been communicating with Julia about her and her husband coming to the Bay Area from South Korea around the holidays. They wanted to catch some quick portraits at a few spots in San Francisco. We had originally planned on getting together in the morning on the 24th but crummy weather derailed us. Bonk!  So what did we do? Crossed our collective fingers and rescheduled for Christmas morning. Rain or shine we were going to shoot! Beautiful blue skies was what we got and it made for a sweet little session. We were able to hit all the spots that Julia wanted and sent the couple on their way to road trip down south for more of their honeymoon along the California coast. Bon voyage you too and all the best in your future together! It was a blast being part of your Bay Area experience!

Cheers,

Chris and Christian
